Two songs by Ravel (written between 1896 and 1899), to texts by the 16th century poet Marot:
I. D'Anne qui me jecta de la neige (1899)
II. D'Anne jouant de l'espinette (1896)
Both songs were dedicated to Madame Hardy-Thé, who gave their first performance at the Salle Érard in Paris in January 1900, with Ravel accompanying her on the piano. The text of the songs can be found on the Lied and Song Texts Page.
